On June 9th, 2012 Hannah Williams' long awaited debut solo record "Bare Bones," will hit the market. This funky, soulful, rock-n-roll album is a musical journey spanning the last eight years. The stars aligned when the team for "Bare Bones" came together. With producers Damon Williams and Jacob Gonzales helped to re-focus some of her tunes, the songs were able to fully blossom taking on a life of their own. Then, grammy award winning mixer and dear friend, Kennie Takahashi (Norah Jones, Gnarls Barkly), put the icing on the cake with his signature modern-edge sound, and the record felt complete. "Kennie helped each one of us think outside the box. Everyone involved helped to shape the sounds in ways I couldn't have imagined." Hannah was raised by an artistic family in Los Angeles. She was performing the moment she entered the world and hit the stage at eight years old. She began voice lessons at twelve, writing songs and playing guitar at sixteen. She credits her early development to Edie Brickell, Tracy Chapman, Indigo Girls, Bob Marley, Ella Fitzgerald and her husband/bandmate, Damon Williams (whom she met at seventeen). She also had a kaleidoscope of experiences as a kid that have shaped her; from divorce, gang-bangers, being a religious gypsy in search of spirituality, to ecstatic joy. "Castelluccio (Williams) has a voice that would give Janis Joplin goosebumps. Her magnetic performance is a cross between Nikka Costa and Edie Brickell. Both a show-stopper and a heart-stopper." Richard Frias, Music Connection??"Hannah writes songs in a modern bluesy rock style, covers everything from heartbreak to divorce and to seduction." Peggy Hager, Daily News In April of 2012, Hannah and Damon started their own record label, The Moon Records (named after their daughter, Emalina Moon.) She's already planning her next several releases. One being a children's record including songs her grandfather, lyricist David Arkin wrote. (One was "Black and White," a song made famous in the 60's by Three Dog Night.) She's picking songs for the next original album and a jazz album. "Jazz has always been a huge influence. I was raised listening to it and always wanted to release a jazz record!" She also wants to eventually put on a show telling the story of her life through song, dance and acting. "Although the recording of 'Bare Bones' was a lot of work doing it indie-style, there was a sense of surrender and ease about it. I really couldn't be more proud or happy about the timing of the release. Everything really does happen exactly when it's meant to. The songs say it all!" She lives her dreams by doing what she loves; making music, writing, performing, teaching yoga and being a mom. "I am truly so grateful!" You can pre-order a signed copy of her CD on her website and receive a free 11x17 poster. It always feels good to support indie artists. Like her song says, "share the love!'
