The Rabbit Head Beetle, scientifically known as Caprichasia ovicollis, is a rare and unique insect belonging to the family Brentidae. These beetles are notable for their distinctive appearance, which resembles the head of a rabbit due to the elongated shape of their heads and their large, forward-facing antennae that look like rabbit ears. They are primarily nocturnal and are often seen feeding on decaying wood and plant matter (tasty!). Their unique head shape and antennae are believed to play a role in their sensory perception and navigation in their environment.
