Lambis scorpius, common name the scorpion conch or scorpion spider conch, is a species of large sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Strombidae, the true conchs.
This species is renowned for its distinctive and ornate shell, which features elongated, curved spines or "fingers" extending from the outer lip, resembling a spider or scorpion. The shell's color varies, typically displaying shades of brown, cream, and orange with intricate patterns.
Lambis scorpius is found in the Indo-Pacific region, including areas like the Red Sea, the Indian Ocean, and the western Pacific Ocean. These snails inhabit sandy or muddy substrates, often near coral reefs or in shallow lagoons. They are herbivorous, primarily feeding on algae and detritus.
