This celestial mineral would surely be favored by Lady Galadriel, were she to choose one. Fortunately, you don't need to be a high elf to admire its pale blue glow. Celestite adds a delicate brilliance to any setting, whether it's a hobbit hole or a cubicle.
Composed of strontium sulfate, Celestite derives its name from the Latin word caelestis, meaning "celestial," inspired by its sky-blue hues. It often forms in geodes or as fibers within sedimentary rocks such as riverbeds, streams, and ocean floors. Typically found alongside Gypsum, Anhydrite, and Halite, Celestite is rare but can be found globally. The pale blue varieties, from which the name is derived, are primarily found in Madagascar and Sicily, Italy. It can also appear in colorless, white, pink, green, brown, or black forms, with orange specimens discovered in Ontario, Canada.
According to metaphysics: Associated with celestial beings, Celestite is strongly connected to divine energy and cosmic supernatural forces. As the result, this gem is best used for pursuing spiritual strength. Celestite also promotes discernment or higher spiritual awareness. This makes the stone good for gaining understanding and promoting inner peace.
