The comet moth (Argema mittrei), native to Madagascar, is a large silk moth known for its striking yellow wings and long, trailing tails. These moths have eye spots on their wings to deter predators and do not eat as adults, relying on energy stored from their caterpillar stage. With a short adult lifespan of about 4–5 days, their primary purpose is to reproduce. Their unique appearance and rarity make them one of the most visually stunning moth species in the world.
