I really liked this book! I was pleasantly surprised that is was as deep as it was. I like mysteries that are less fluffy and have more substance and this book did not disappoint! When I decided to buy this, I was looking for a book similar to Death on Paradise Island by B.M. Allsopp and so when I found this book, I started it, then could not put it down. I ended up reading them both at the same time and loved both of them!I would recommend this book to others who may be like me, and want to read a mystery with depth but without a lot of silly characters, pets or add-ins, and not be underwhelming with an unbelievable murder. This story reminded me of a really good tv show that I would like to see. The locations were described beautifully, and the detective Kawika is a great character. I liked the references to the great detectives in other famous books. I didn't care too much for the relationship (aka too many sexual references) aspect of the book and felt he could have taken that completely out for my taste but, I still liked the story and I look forward to reading the next one! Great mystery story that deserves to be read!
