Chrysocolla, regarded as the king of copper carbonate gemstones, boasts a striking blue-green hue and is often mistaken for turquoise due to their visual similarities. It is frequently found alongside malachite, turquoise, and azurite, forming the beautiful mixed gemstone known as Eilat stone, named after the city where it was once mined. According to legend, Eilat stone was originally extracted from King Solomon's mines in Africa, which is one of the reasons it is considered the national stone of Israel.
The name "Chrysocolla" was first used by the philosopher Theophrastus in 315 B.C., derived from the Greek words "chrysos" meaning "gold," and "kolla" meaning "glue," referring to the material historically used to solder gold.
According the metaphysics: Often referred to as the Teaching Stone, Chrysocolla embodies a gentle feminine energy that sparks curiosity and encourages the pursuit of higher knowledge. With its rich history among emperors and kings, it is also considered a stone of wisdom for women across the globe. Chrysocolla inspires women to channel this energy into self-expression and creativity, empowering them to share their wisdom and truth with the world while embracing the serenity of their inner selves.
