If you are a fan of the "Bones" television series, be forewarned. This Temperance Brennan is not the character you watch on that show. Yes, they are both forensic anthropologists, and share the same name, but that is where the resemblance ends. This Tempe commutes from North Carolina to Quebec, working with both the American and Canadian police systems. In this episode of her adventures, circumstances surrounding a death bring her to Israel where she winds up involved in a mystery spanning the centuries and the histories of the world's three great faiths. As someone who works at a theological institution, I am aware of the archaeology she references, and can tell you that there is just enough truth behind her story to be quite intriguing. Would my colleagues agree with her conclusions? Perhaps not, but there is a great tale in the telling, if you can just distance yourself from the television character. I would wish, for the sake of these books, that the television character had been given a different name.
