Peter Chelsom's second feature is my favorite of his films, and this soundtrack is a perfect representation of that film's spirit, its essence, in musical form - which is a what a good soundtrack should be.It includes eight excerpts of John Altman's tender and evocative score, as well as "La Mer" by Charles Trenet; "Boogie Chillen" by John Lee Hooker; Duke Ellington's "Caravan"; "Me & My Chauffeur Blues" by Memphis Minnie; "La Queue de Tortue" by Nathan Abshire; "Walkin' the Blues" by Willie Dixon; "Uska Dara" by Eartha Kitt; "Diggin' My Potatoes" by Washboard Sam; "Penguin" by the Raymond Scott Quintet; and "Beyond the Sea" by Harold Nicholas.This is a German import CD, and it's pretty difficult to track down anymore. But if you can, hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as I do.
