- Start with a clean slate—wash and dry the skin where you want your tattoo to live for the next few days.
- Peel away the clear protective layer and place the tattoo face down on your skin.
- Dampen a cloth or sponge, press it firmly against the tattoo, and hold for about 20–30 seconds. The backing paper will be translucent.
- Gently peel back the paper backing to reveal your masterpiece.
Keeping It Fresh
- Skip the oil-based lotions—your tattoo deserves better.
- A little water-based moisturizer can help keep the design sharp.
- No sweaty adventures for at least 30 minutes post-application; give it time to settle.
- When you’re ready to part ways with your tattoo (or swap it for a new one), simply massage the area with baby oil or petroleum jelly and wipe away with a cloth.
