There is a fine line between making great bluesy, southern rock, and churning out butt rock. You've got Black Label Society, which is excellent... and then you've got Buckcherry, which is awful. Devil's Train had two great albums (2012 and 2016) prior to this one, and they took their time with this effort, so I had assumed it would be even better. It's not.The band doesn't sound focused or tight, as it once did. The songwriting is also weaker than the prior two albums. But the biggest drop comes from the lead singer; the vocals have just eroded away on this album, leaving the listener with less hooks, less intensity, and worse vocals. This is more of a heavier version of Nickelback than a band that sounds like BLS.Huge letdown for me, having waited 6 years for this album.
