These beautiful quartz crystals may have a somewhat strange name considering the shimmer inclusions locked within inspire a somewhat more majestic name. You may think “are these quartz grown by a gas pump or something?” We kinda did until we started to learn more about them. Petroleum Quartz is a unique type of quartz that contains trapped fluid inclusions, often a mix of water and petroleum, some of which have been sealed inside for millions of years. Also known as Golden Enhydro Petroleum Quartz, this stone is highly sought after by crystal enthusiasts due to its fascinating inclusions. The term "Enhydro" comes from the Greek word for "water within." Some believe that these crystals contain important messages planted by Mother Earth, meant for select souls to unlock in the "New Age." While that idea may be a bit out there, we appreciate the sentiment. Not only is this quartz beautiful and shrouded in mystery, but it also features UV-reactive petroleum oil inclusions that glow under black light (hence the name). Petroleum Quartz is an intriguing specimen, even if its name doesn’t quite capture its full allure.
According to metaphysics: This type of quartz is widely recognized for its healing properties. It boosts energy, promotes mental clarity, and offers protection against negative influences. Commonly used in meditation, it helps calm the mind and foster spiritual growth. Additionally, it is believed to be highly effective in developing spiritual gifts and stimulating the Third Eye chakra, enabling the flow of ancient, sacred wisdom. A powerful healer for the Solar Plexus area, it is also used to clear emotional trauma carried through many lifetimes.
