It is known for its large size and distinctive coloration, with dark greenish-black wings adorned with pale yellow and white patterns. The hindwings have prominent tail-like extensions, typical of swallowtails. This butterfly inhabits forested areas and feeds on nectar from flowering plants. The larvae feed on plants from the Rutaceae family, such as citrus and other related species. Its beauty and ecological role make it an important part of its habitat.
